Happy Birthday, Small Steps!

Yes, it’s already been a year of posting stepecitos! – Of course, work on “Small Steps” started a few months prior to that first post, with developing and building the story board, but the first chapter of the rough draft was posted on August 1st 2007.
I hadn’t expected that “Small Steps” would take me this long (and it’s not finished yet!), but since I barely manage to post twice a week due to the dissertation, things last longer this time around. I don’t think I’ll crack the seven years record of “Campus”, though. “Small Steps” should be finished in the upcoming months.
My thanks today goes to my readers, who have made this past year interesting and challenging and a lot more enjoyable with their comments. – Celebratory update to follow later tonight, where, in a certain whay, things will come full circle…

Happy birthday! Yeah! A great, amazing, marvelous story. Thanks to you Nordie, a great pleasure to read your stepecitos. And little by little I’m reading your other works. I’ll post you on them when I finish.
Wie schön, dass du geboren bist,
wir hätten dich sonst sehr vermisst.
wie schön, dass wir beisammen sind,
wir gratulieren dir, Geburtstags-Small Steps!
Although I am not beneath the ones you have to thank *harrumph*, YET, I am happy for the brain and the child. May there be more reasons to rejoyce
ONE YEAR!! one year — thank you (und deinen Hummeln) very much
Thank you so much for introducing me to queer tango. Quite wonderful stuff. I thought you might be interested in this little clip I found on YouTube which is taken from Carlos Saura’s movie tango. The clip is called “tango para 2 mujeres”. If you haven’t already seen it, I hope you enjoy:
@Anonymous: thanks for the link. I do own the DVD, but I didn’t watch this in a while (the reframing ands story-telling is so straight-male oriented that it is tedious at times, but the clip sure has its moments!).
Happy dancing among the growing number of queer dancers!
I’m happy to hear that you have been successfully lured into the world of queer tango.
I am so glad that you found more to enjoy on YouTube. It’s a little treasure trove, isn’t it? I myself was rather surprised at the volume of material there. Thanks also for sharing your comments on the following clips. Hot stuff.
I also just realised that I was absent minded enough to for get to thank you for the many years of enjoyment Campus has given me (I can’t believe I forgot – but I guess talk of queer tango can do that to a girl ;-D). I have read and devoured every single word of Campus, many time over. You are someone very rare, a master of unresolved sexual tension, and a sublime weaver of romance. Wow.
If Campus were to be released in book format, I would not hesitate in purchasing it immediately, at any price.
It’s a wonderful world indeed when someone with a world view like yours, creates a piece of literary art, and has the generousity of spirit to share their gift with others, without asking a penny.
Anonymous is very happy.
Good evening to you.
@Anonymous: thanks for the compliments on “Campus”. It wouldn’t have been the same journey without the readers! As for the book format, that’s hopefully happening after I wrap up the Ph.D. One book at a time.
Good evening (and good dancing) to you, too! And I hope there will be more queer tango clips popping up on YT to pour over.
Best wishes with the Ph.D, I’m sure you’ll sail through… then proceed to throw an almighty party for all your fans and supporters to celebrate. :-p
As to the dancing, not quite yet, working on persuading the wife you see. Wouldn’t want to dance with onyone but her (she is a marvelous waltz lead). However, I have managed to make her quite enthusiasatic about attending forthcoming London queer tango events… This place looks just the thing:

Ideally want to start their drop in classes in October. The directors their seem perticularly GLBG friendly. The members bar and restaurant should be of particular interest and incentive to the Mrs as well. Fingers crossed.
Toodles!
