White Shirt Monday: Guns ‘n’ Roses

Until the Lyric Opera of Kansas City did “Capuleti” this month, I never realized there was an operatic version of “Romeo Must Die”.
Or something similar that clearly revolves around the life of a tough private eye who goes by the name of Romeo (perhaps since she has a reputation with her lady clients?). Possibly, she’s an ex-cop, who once looked the wrong way over a pretty smile while trying to do the right thing.
And then, just as she’s about to expose the dirty cops – now higher up on the ladder – who once kicked her off the force, that same pretty smile walks back into her life in the form of Giulietta, the only child of feared mob boss Capellio, whose failed arrest back in the day is the dark spot on Romeo’s record.
And now Romeo has to pick sides anew, especially when it turns out that there’s a hit out on Giulietta and Capellio’s right-hand man Tebaldo plays his own game on the side…
