White Shirt Monday: Isadora Brooks hits on Tosca

LL_MP_ASVO_MKH[Well, it’s either that, or the operatic and gayed-up (which may be a tautologism, now tht I think about it) version of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, not that I would mind. – Marlis Petersen (Lulu) and Anne Sofie von Otter (Countess Geschwitz) in Alban Berg’s “Lulu”, New York/MET 2010. – Photo Credit: Ken Howard]

Also, I’ve probaby seen this one painted by Lempicka. Or it should have been, at least.

Happy New White Shirt Year to all of you – may 2014 be full of dashing mezzos and contraltos decked in shirtsleeves (and swooning sopranos)!

  1. Una Lady Troubridge, yes, although a monocle is not a lorgnette. Perhaps two monocles? Sylvia von Harden hits on a surprisingly dressed-up Anita Berber? Whatever von Otter’s sleeve is made of, I want yards of it.
