Video Alert: “Figaro” from Amsterdam tonight

figaro amsterdam.png

Reminder that tonight, ARTE streams the Sept. 21st take of “Le nozze di Figaro” in the new Bösch staging from Amsterdam.

Hopefully, it’ll be available on demand for a while a few days after that, but whoever cannot wait: tune in tonight at 6.55 p.m. (UTC+2).

Which reminds me: we still need to agree on a liveblog date for this one. This weekend is out, since someone is lucky enough catch Röschmann live. I could do every night including Friday leading up to that, but I think thadieu is super busy with work meetings.
As of next week, classes start again, so some nights I may have to write lecture scripts, but the weekends still look ok so far. So… perhaps next weekend (Oct. 8th/9th?)

    1. Oh, OK, this friday then? From my side we don’t have to end the season (I’m so enjoying it), but since everybody gets more busy, we probably can’t proceed that frequently.

      1. and yes, we may not be able to do go on wiht the same frequency, but we should be able to slip in the occasional autumn event, perhaps?

Dr. T. will be unavailable this Friday, on account of an interdisciplinary research agenda concering the processing and depicton of reaction patterns in a neurosciene-related trial setup. She will be a test subject (has, in fact, kindly volunteered to do so) in a study on multi-channel input…”

    1. sat 8 or sun 9 both work for me too, and won’t require rearrangement at work.. in the case Anik can also do one of those, then we can have 1 more after this week, so that we can try to shove in one of my various suggestions😉

          2. The Figaro is now available, so we can go ahead on Friday! and then “Deltamide” on the 8th? (snort, that is so silly, it will likely remain stuck in my head forever).

          3. Great news! Yes, Friday at the usual hour, then?

Sorry about the bad deltoid pun. I’m on cough meds again and you know what things happen under that influence…!

    1. Don’t they usually need a few days to upload afterwards? They usually say “pas encore” – “not yet”. But I will also keep an eye out on the usual source. Are we on for Friday, then, if we manage to get a hold of it?

      1. oh, my broken tranlation then, yes we are on for frid if we can secure a copy. in case we cant, perhaps we could do something A.Hallenberg? (or more ACA, the sparring with Devia for example, or.. ACA’s Nerone! or even her Poppea.. )

          1. on the subject on A.Hallenberg, may i drop this off. Do you think it’s CB’s mother sitting next to her? She (the mother) was also lip-singing along with AH. I think you were in town but couldn’t secure a ticket to this very private event? There’s also a suggestion on the side for the actual clip of CB receiving the Polar Music Prize (I love the title of the prize!!)

okay, that is a beautiful dedication (and an impressive singer crush😉 )

but she has a point, it is kind of impossible to resist a Bartoi live performance, no matter what place you come from.

          4.

the Prize was probably invented for you, or by you, I am not quite sure.😉

I happened to be in the same town at the same time (that's about it. that's my claim to glory!) – no idea on Bartoli's companion for the evening, though. I guess it would make sense to take along her mother/teacher, and jawlines and classic Italian style fit, but you know how woefully inept I am when it comes to singers' lives beyond the stage. I think the only 'husband' I failsafely recognize is the one of Anna N., and that's due to promotion on all Austrian channels.

        1. True, we need to prepare properly! (I’m interested in seeing how things will change from the original take – what will get lost, what will get a different focus…)
