White Shirt Monday: Out Of The Blue

[While, these days, Anna Bonitatibus is singing her last staged Cherubino at the Liceu and retires a much-beloved part in a much-beloved interpretation, the Circle of Mezzo Life comforts in that it continues (cue ‘Lion King’): Marianne Crébassa has,  after the Bösch take depicted above, already added yet another Cherubino to her growing chain of broken Countess hearts. Or however you want to conceptualize that. – Marianne Crébassa (Cherubino) in Mozart’s “Le nozze di Figaro” as staged by David Bösch, Amsterdam 2016]

 …

Please complete the multiple choice phrase for our smitten Cherubino:

“If it were me…”

a) …she might call you a Smurf.
b) …she might call you Smurfette.
c) …she might get you out of your jacket.
d) …all of the above.

  1. OK, I’ve been fighting it since this afternoon, now giving up and heading over to a re-watch. And I’m somehow getting caught up in your MC question, although, or rather because I know the correct answer. (Would “Smurf” be part of the Countess’ vocabulary?)

    1. good question… and what is it in Italian? I think they are called i Puffi… perhaps it’s really not a situation of that many words.
