A Long River In Egypt

If you need a break from everything: Opera Platform and ARTE Concert stream the opening night of “The Pearls of Cleopatra” from Komische Oper Berlin with Dagmar Manzel  and Dominique Horwitz tonight, staged by Barrie Kosky.

The livestream starts at 7.25 p.m. (UTC+1)

Tonight, it’s shipping down the actual river in Egypt (in a very Spree take), tomorrow, it might be the figurative one, at least here in Austria.

(TOmorrow, we’ll have “Lady Macbeth of Mzensk” from Munich to correspond with the mood. In case we end up with “Ich muss ja in die Donau eh es Tag wird”, I may simply have to revisit this Berlinesque Egypt again. Thankfully, the Nile is a long, long, river – it might carry us for a few years, if we are mindful of the crocodiles.
