The Twelve White Shirts of Christmas (3)

On the third Day of Christmas, the White Shirts sent to me:

One Elektric Candle

Or rather, make that
one Elektric Candle and an impressive set of delts to go with that Christmas light
(- sidenote: Malena Ernman needs to do more HD broadcasts because my lack of material for this series is not okay),

two Sottish Lovebirds:

Joyce DiDonato (Elena) and Daniela Barcellona (Malcolm) in Rossini’s “La donna del lago”, London/ROH 2013

…and one pining Prince of Ponto:

Myrtò Papatanasiu (Sifare) in Mozart’s “Mitridate”, Paris/TCE 2016

  1. dramatic sopranos and delts always remind me of the Eva Marton quote of having her own gym installed at her home because the repertory would demand some serious fitness. I heard Herlitzius live in Berlin in what must have been nearly have been a decade ago, but her presence (studiously avoiding mention of muscle here), in singing and on the scene, is so much more intense now. I know you saw the Stemme take (and I know I still have on my list getting another one to you), which must have been amazing, but so Herlitzius these days.
